How it works
It tracks each trend leg with an ATR-based ZigZag, then ranks the current leg's age and size against up to 100 completed legs in the same direction on your own chart. The maturity score is the average of the two percentiles.
What you see
- Leg line and zone The current leg is a line from its start pivot to its peak, coloured by maturity: teal YOUNG, blue MID-LIFE, amber MATURE. A translucent zone shows how much room is left before the leg would be confirmed over.
- Age A ten-circle meter, the age in bars, and how many past legs it is older than.
- Stretch A ten-circle meter, the size in ATR, and how many past legs it is bigger than.
- Leg ends A meter showing how much of the reversal threshold price has already pulled back, and the exact confirmation level. It turns amber from 50% and red from 80%.
How to use it
- Compare with past legs Age and Stretch show how this leg ranks against legs on the same chart and direction.
- Read the label YOUNG, MID-LIFE or MATURE combines both measures. Below 33.3 is young and above 66.7 is mature.
- Find the confirmation level The Leg ends meter and zone show where a close would confirm the leg over.
- Set an alert Get notified when a leg becomes MATURE or is confirmed over.
- Treat it as context A MATURE leg is not a reversal signal and a YOUNG leg is not a continuation signal. Compare several timeframes.
Settings
- Reversal threshold x ATR 2.5 by default. Lower gives more, shorter legs. Higher gives fewer, longer legs.
- ATR length 14.
- Past legs kept per direction 100.
- Minimum past legs for percentiles 10.
- Display Draw legs, draw the leg-ends zone, show the panel, panel position and text size.
Alerts
- Up leg confirmed over and Down leg confirmed over.
- Leg became MATURE, once per leg.
- All use confirmed bars only. Choose Once Per Bar Close.
Good to know
- Pivots are recognised late: a leg's start is known only after price has retraced by the reversal threshold.
- The current leg's peak can still extend, so its age, stretch and zone change until the leg is confirmed over.
- Percentiles compare only with past legs on the same chart and direction, and change when more history loads.
- The author's exploratory tests found older, more stretched legs continued only a few percentage points less often, which is small and unverified. Maturity is context, not a prediction.
- With fewer than the minimum past legs, only raw Age and Stretch are shown.
- Use standard candles. Gaps and thin liquidity can change legs.
