How it works
A pivot is confirmed N bars after the candle. Each zone is the pivot price plus and minus ATR times a width multiplier. Touches count bars that overlap the zone, and a close beyond the far edge marks it Broken for good.
What you see
- Zones from swing pivots Resistance zones (red) come from swing highs and support zones (green) from swing lows. Only the latest zones per side are shown, three by default.
- Touch count and tier Each zone tracks bars traded inside it. A relative tier (Strong, Medium, Weak) ranks zones against each other. Hover a label for the exact count.
- Permanent Broken status When a bar closes beyond a zone's far edge it turns gray and is marked Broken, even if price returns.
How to use it
- Watch for a reaction Treat zones as areas where price may pause, reject or bounce on a retest. It may or may not, and a zone can fail at any time.
- Read the colour Brighter zones are newer and darker zones are older.
- Keep broken zones for reference Gray zones show where price has already closed through a level.
- Choose the pivot length A higher lookback gives fewer, more significant zones, confirmed later. A lower one gives more recent structure, confirmed sooner.
Settings
- Pivot lookback 10 bars each side by default.
- ATR length and zone width 14 and 0.5 by default, about one ATR thick.
- Max zones per side 3.
- Zone extension 30 bars to the right.
- Labels and colours Show or hide labels and set bright and dark colours.
Alerts
- Resistance Zone Broken and Support Zone Broken.
- They follow only the newest pivot on each side and trigger when the close crosses that pivot's price, the centre of the zone.
- A new pivot can replace the tracked level and also fire an alert. Use Once Per Bar Close.
Good to know
- Zones are drawn from the pivot candle but were not known until N bars later.
- Only the current state is drawn. Scrolling back does not show earlier zones.
- The tier is a relative ranking. It does not estimate how likely a zone is to hold.
- On a live bar, touch counts and break status can change until the bar closes.
